Application Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Liberty University School of Law requires for admission to its J.D. program a bachelor’s degree from an institution that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Department of Education. In an extraordinary case, the School of Law may admit to its J.D. program an applicant who does not possess the above educational requirements if the applicant’s experience, ability, and other characteristics clearly show an aptitude for the study of law.

APPLICATION

Applying online is easy for those who are registered with LSAC. Simply visit www.LSAC.org. Complete each section of the Application for Admission, which includes the Personal Profile Statement. All questions must be answered completely. Please keep us informed of any address changes during the application process.

Contact the School of Law for further information at 434-592-5300 or by email at lawadmissions@liberty.edu.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Submit two letters of recommendation. One letter should address your academic abilities, and the other should be a personal recommendation. We recommend that you submit your letters through the LSDAS Letter of Recommendation Service. Letters submitted through LSDAS will be copied and sent to us along with your LSDAS report.

LSAT AND LSDAS
Applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and must register with the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). Official transcripts of all work completed in each college or university should be sent to: Law School Admission Council, LSDAS, Box 2000-M, Newtown, PA 18940-0993. Supplementary transcripts covering work completed after the initial registration with LSDAS should be submitted to LSAC. These transcripts should not be sent to the School of Law. Consult the LSAC website for further information.

APPLICATION FEE AND DEADLINES
A $50 non-refundable application fee is paid online at LSAC’s website when the application is completed. The application must be completed online at LSAC’s website by June 1 of the expected enrollment year. The application file includes a personal statement, two letters of recommendation, the application fee, and the full LSDAS report, unless the applicant is foreign educated. Letters of recommendation may be directed to LSAC or to the School of Law. Applicants who do not have all of the required documents in their files by June 1 may be withdrawn from the admissions process; therefore, it is imperative that the applicants monitor the status of their applications.
